Zoom Announces AI Companion 2.0 and Custom Avatars 🤖
At its annual Zoomtopia event, Zoom announced exciting new features to its platform. The spotlight was on the AI Companion 2.0 and custom AI avatars that are set to enhance user experience with smarter tools and personalized interactions.
Details:
AI Companion 2.0: This upgraded assistant can now tap into Zoom Mail, Zoom Tasks, and other platforms, making it a powerful tool for productivity. It can summarize documents, generate text, and even answer questions during and after meetings by searching the web.
Zoom Tasks: A new AI-first solution to help detect, recommend, and complete tasks based on conversations across meetings, calls, chats, docs, and more.
Custom AI Avatars: Users can create digital versions of themselves using video clips to send brief messages to their team. These avatars can mimic the user's voice and lip-sync to added text scripts. The feature won't be accessible to users until 2025.
Zoom CEO Eric Yuan previously expressed his intention to create a 'digital twin' — a deepfake avatar of yourself that can attend Zoom meetings on your behalf and make decisions for you while you focus on more important matters. This seems like a significant step in that direction.

OpenAI Reports on Election Disruption Attempts Using AI
OpenAI has warned about efforts to use its platform by cyber actors to influence elections worldwide.
Details:
OpenAI's report highlights over 20 operations where its models were used for election interference, including AI-generated articles and social media posts by fake accounts.
The report comes ahead of significant elections in the U.S. and other countries, affecting billions globally. Concerns about AI-driven misinformation are rising, with deepfake content increasing dramatically.
Despite these efforts, OpenAI notes that most AI-generated content failed to gain traction, with few likes, shares, or comments.
While AI tools are being leveraged for election interference, OpenAI's findings suggest these efforts have not yet achieved significant influence. The report highlights the ongoing challenge of managing AI's role in digital misinformation.

How to add subtitles to a video using AI
Go to runwayML and log in.
Look for the 'Subtitles' tool. You can use the search bar to find it faster.
Upload your video, choose the language, and click on 'Generate.'
Wait for the subtitles to generate. It might take a bit longer depending on the length of the video.
Once it's done, you will be automatically redirected to the editor, where you can make changes to the text, font, or style.
Finally, click the export option to download your video with subtitles.
