Mysterious 'Gpt2-Chatbot' AI Model Shocks Experts 🔍

A powerful new language model called "gpt2-chatbot" has appeared online, igniting intense speculation about its origins and capabilities.

Details:

• The model surfaced on the LMSYS Chatbot Arena a popular website for comparing AI models.

• Its performance has experts claiming it matches OpenAI's GPT-4.

• AI researcher Andrew Gao claimed that the model was able to solve a problem from the International Math Olympiad on its first attempt. He conducted other tests as well, concluding that the model is 'at least GPT-4 level'.

• Other experts expressed similar opinions, even claiming that the model outperforms GPT-4 on some tasks like complex code manipulation.

• Many speculate that 'gpt2-chatbot' likely originated from OpenAI and could be related to the upcoming GPT-5.

Though impressive that this new model appears to be close in capability to GPT-4, it falls short of what many expect from GPT-5, OpenAI’s rumored next big model.

AI That Predicts Death Risk Helps Save Lives in Hospital Trial

A new AI system that analyzes heart data has significantly reduced deaths by alerting physicians about patients at high risk of dying.

Details:

• In a major clinical trial across two hospitals involving nearly 16,000 patients, the AI reduced overall deaths among identified high-risk patients by an astonishing 31%.

• The was AI trained on over 450,000 electrocardiogram (ECG) tests and survival data of the ECG subjects.

• It can identify patients in the 95th percentile or higher for risk of death. It then alerts physicians, who can prioritize diagnostic tests and treatment accordingly.

• Deaths from heart issues were reduced by over 90%

The ability of an AI system to achieve such a drastic reduction in deaths is being hailed as "extraordinary" by experts. The AI risk alert system has already been rolled out to 14 military hospitals in Taiwan.
