British Company Introduces AI Granny Designed to Waste Scammers' Time 👵
“Daisy” is an AI with a grandmother's voice, created by the British telecom company O2.
Details:
Using technology similar to ChatGPT Voice, it keeps scammers on the line by telling long stories and giving out fake personal details.
It listens to the caller, transcribes it into text, sends that to the LLM, which generates the response and sends it back to the caller using text-to-speech.
It has held frustrated fraudsters on calls for up to 40 minutes, as she rambles on about anything and everything, helping to keep them away from real people.
Financial fraud is increasing worldwide as the public embraces new technologies that scammers can exploit. According to O2, 67% of British people worry about fraud, and a quarter experience some form of it every week.

New OpenAI Emails Reveal Internal Tensions and Mistrust in Early Days of the Company
The lawsuit involving Elon Musk and OpenAI has unveiled a trove of emails from the startup's tumultuous early years.
Details:
Former chief scientist Ilya Sutskever expressed worries about Musk's desire for control, fearing it could lead to a single person having too much power over artificial general intelligence (AGI). This concern was rooted in Musk's insistence on being CEO.
Sutskever also questioned Sam Altman's motivations, using words much like those the board would later use to justify his dismissal.
Internal debates over Microsoft collaboration emerged, with Musk not keen on the partnership, saying, ‘It’d be worth more than $50M not to seem like Microsoft’s marketing b*tch.’
Interestingly, Gabe Newell, founder of Valve, was mentioned as part of Sam Altman and Greg Brockman’s 'informal advisory board.'
These emails don't tell the whole story, but they offer a rare glimpse into the internal dynamics and challenges faced by one of the most influential tech companies today.

ElevenLabs’ Voice Design allows you to generate a unique voice from a text prompt alone and for free, perfect for when the exact voice you're looking for isn’t available in the Voice Library.
Go to Eleven Labs, click on 'Design Voice Free,' and then click on 'Voices' in the left sidebar.
Click on 'My Voices' and select 'Add a new voice,' then choose 'Voice Design.'
Provide a detailed description of the voice, including age, accent, gender, and style.
Preview three AI-generated versions, choose your favorite, and assign it a name for immediate use.
