The Stargate Project: $500 Billion to Build the Future of US AI 🚀
Backed by major names in tech like OpenAI, SoftBank, Oracle, and MGX, "The Stargate Project" aims to invest a staggering $500 billion into US-based AI infrastructure by 2029.
Details:
The project was unveiled at a White House event, announcing an initial investment of $100 billion.
SoftBank founder Masayoshi Son will lead the company as chairman, with SoftBank handling the financial side and OpenAI managing operations.
The project brings together several major tech players as partners, including Arm, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Oracle.
Over 100,000 jobs are expected to be created across the U.S. as part of this effort.
Ten data centers are already under construction in Texas, with plans to expand to other states soon.
With support from President Trump and partnerships with key industry leaders, this venture is being compared to historic efforts like the Apollo program for its scale and ambition. Sam Altman has declared it 'will be the most important project of this era.'

Perplexity Launches Sonar API for Real-Time AI Search Capabilities
Perplexity has launched Sonar, a new API service that allows developers and enterprises to integrate the company’s generative AI search tools into their own platforms. With a focus on real-time, factual, and source-cited answers, Sonar offers businesses a customizable and cost-effective way to bring AI search functionality to their applications.

The company offers two service tiers:
Sonar (Base Model): Affordable and lightweight, costing $5 per 1,000 searches, with flat pricing for input and output word processing.
Sonar Pro: Designed for complex queries, offering detailed results and twice the citations, but with higher and variable pricing.
Enterprises can tailor the sources from which the AI pulls information.
Unlike traditional generative AI tools, Sonar connects to the Internet, ensuring answers are based on up-to-date and reputable sources.
Zoom is already using Sonar to power a real-time AI assistant for its video conferencing platform.
With Sonar, Perplexity is expanding its reach beyond its app and website, providing businesses with a powerful new tool for AI-powered search. The company claims Sonar is the most affordable AI search API on the market and aims to compete with established players like Google and OpenAI.

How to create consistent AI videos with 'Ingredients'
Pika Labs' Ingredients feature allows you to upload images of people, places, and objects to create consistent AI-generated videos.
Go to the Pika Labs website.
Click on the Ingredients tool and upload your images of people, clothing, objects, background visuals, etc.
Type a clear description of the scene you want to create and click on Generate. (You can choose between Creative or Precise mode to adjust how much flexibility you want Pika to have in its video creation.)
You can then swap any "ingredient." For example, you can change the background to keep the same character in a different setting.

The latest in AI and Tech
Former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati is building a new AGI-focused startup, hiring 10 researchers and engineers from OpenAI, Character AI, and Google DeepMind. Notably, Jonathan Lachman, ex-lead of special projects at OpenAI, has joined the team.
Anthropic plans to launch a "two-way" voice mode, memory features, and "smarter" AI models in the coming months, according to CEO Dario Amodei.

Goldman Sachs has introduced GS AI assistant to 10,000 employees, aiming to expand it to all knowledge workers this year. It helps with tasks like summarizing emails, proofreading, and translating code.
