THE BEATLES
The Beatles Return with One Last Song- with Help from AI 🎙
Nearly 60 years after their debut, the Beatles have gifted fans with what is likely their final new track - thanks to a little help from artificial intelligence.
Details:
"Now and Then" was unfinished when first recorded in 1994. John Lennon's original demo tape posed technical challenges that prevented Paul, George, and Ringo from completing it for their Anthology albums.
Armed with new AI audio separation tools, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr revisited the song. The tech allowed them to isolate Lennon's vocals and lay down new instrumentation.
"To still be working on Beatles music in 2023...it's probably the last Beatles song," said McCartney.
With the release of "Now and Then," the book has likely closed on new music from the iconic foursome. Their pioneering career ended much as it began - with creative spirit and musical innovation.

The first International AI Safety Summit was held this week at Bletchley Park in the UK, bringing together government leaders, tech executives, and researchers to address growing concerns around artificial intelligence. The summit resulted in the signing of the Bletchley Declaration by over 25 countries, including the US, China, and EU member states.
Key takeaways:
Countries agreed to increase collaboration on AI safety research and establish international governance frameworks. This included participation from China, marking increased openness to working with Western nations.
The Bletchley Declaration outlines a shared vision for fostering safety and ethical considerations in AI development and deployment
Tech leaders, including Elon Musk and DeepMind's Mustafa Suleyman, participated and largely welcomed prudent regulation.
While the summit demonstrated a growing willingness for global coordination on AI safety, mistrust between major powers persists.

Personalize the appearance of your Midjourney images with “Style Tuner”
Midjourney has unveiled a new feature called "Style Tuner". This feature will allow you to create a particular style and apply it to new image generations.
Here’s how to use it:
Use the new /tune command and write a prompt
Select how many style directions you want (16, 32, 64, 128), and select between 'default' and 'raw' mode.
Choose your favorite images, and you'll receive a unique code you can use to customize the look of future Jobs.
Add this code to the end of your future prompts with the “--style <code>” parameter.
Example: Implementing a foggy and misty atmosphere style
--style raw-btvMSX6949oRdtpi
Adding it at the end of different prompts, you get images with the same style

Scarlett Johansson sues over AI Clone

Scarlett Johansson is taking an AI company to court for using her likeness without consent. An online ad for an AI image editor, called Lisa AI: 90s Yearbook & Avatar, featured an AI-generated version of Johansson's voice that sounded eerily similar to the real actress. Johansson's lawyer says she will pursue "all legal remedies" against the company behind the ad.
Google announces generative AI tools for product imagery in the US
Source: Google
Google just launched a new AI tool for US advertisers to create product images at no cost. The Product Studio generates professional photos with custom backgrounds and other tweaks. This allows the reuse of assets across campaigns without reshooting. The launch follows Amazon's similar AI rollout last week, as generative AI takes off for e-commerce marketing.
Instagram reportedly working on a new AI companion
According to app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi, Instagram is developing a customizable "AI friend" that users can chat with about anything, from ideas to challenges. It’s not clear which AI tools Instagram would use to power the “AI friend” but it seems to be designed to facilitate more open-ended conversations, unlike most other chatbots which are each designed for different more specific interactions.
That’s a wrap!
