Stable Diffusion 3.0 - A Major Leap in AI Image & Text Generation ✨

Stable Diffusion 3.0, the latest AI creation from Stability AI, promises improved overall generation quality. This new iteration is based on a whole new architecture that promises to be a game-changer in the AI art space.

Details:

• Stable Diffusion 3 is a diffusion transformer, a new type of architecture similar to the one used in the recent OpenAI Sora model.

• Early demos showcase superior image quality, enhanced performance on multi-part, complex prompts, and a significant improvement in text-writing capabilities.

• Model sizes will range from 800M to 8B parameters

While not yet publicly available, users can join the waitlist for the 'early preview'. This phase will allow for further improvements in quality and safety before the open release.

With rivals like DALL-E and Midjourney pushing the pace, the innovation race is heating up. If early demos prove accurate, Stable Diffusion 3.0 seems to be on par with the best, or possibly even surpassing them.

Elon Musk Takes Aim at Google Amid Controversy, Announces Grok V1.5

Elon Musk made big waves in the last few days by strongly criticizing Google's new AI image generator, Gemini, in a series of tweets.

• He accused Google of embedding "insane racist, anti-civilizational programming" in its AI models.

• Musk also criticized Google search for "pro-censorship" bias.

• Finally, today, he claimed that a senior Google executive called him and promised to address issues and fix bias in Gemini.

Musk’s high-profile criticism of Gemini has amplified the debate around ethical and unbiased AI development. Though the reaction has been mixed, it has placed even greater pressure on Google amid the company's rough patch.
It was also a great opportunity for him to promote his own AI offerings, even announcing an upcoming new version 1.5 of Grok.

New Research Shows Mental Health Can Get a Boost From AI

Researchers at Cedars-Sinai have developed an immersive virtual reality therapy program called XAIA that shows early promise in providing meaningful mental health benefits.

Details:

• Known as the eXtended-Reality Artificially Intelligent Ally, or XAIA, the program offers users an immersive therapy session led by a trained digital avatar.

• It provides patients with self-administered, AI-enabled, conversational therapy in immersive virtual reality environments.

• Participants reported mental health improvements and expressed willingness to recommend the program.

While not intended to replace human providers, XAIA aims to address the national shortage of psychotherapists, increasing access to mental health support, especially in lower-income and rural areas.
