OpenAI Tries to 'Uncensor' ChatGPT
Last week, OpenAI announced an update to its Model Spec document that outlines how the company trains AI models to behave. The changes include granting its models greater “intellectual freedom … no matter how challenging or controversial a topic may be.”

This new policy will let ChatGPT answer more questions, offer more perspectives, and reduce the number of topics the AI chatbot avoids.
In the newly added “Seek the Truth Together” section, OpenAI states that ChatGPT will avoid taking an editorial stance, offering multiple perspectives on controversial topics to be less restrictive and more neutral, even if some users "consider this morally wrong or offensive."
The company justifies these changes by stating, "The goal of an AI assistant is to assist humanity, not to shape it," and claims its embrace of intellectual freedom reflects OpenAI’s “long-held belief in giving users more control.”
The change has received mixed reactions, with some claiming it was made to appease the Trump administration, though an OpenAI spokesperson rejects this idea. Regardless, there appears to be a larger shift happening in Silicon Valley and the AI world regarding the role of content moderation.

Meta Enters the Race to Build Humanoid Robots
Meta is diving into the robotics world, with plans to develop hardware and software for humanoid robots. According to Bloomberg, the company’s Reality Labs division has formed a new team to design robots capable of handling household chores.

According to Bloomberg, the company’s Reality Labs division has formed a new team to design robots capable of handling household chores.
Meta also plans to develop robotics technologies, including AI systems and sensors, that other companies can use for manufacturing robots. Discussions are already underway with robotics firms like Unitree Robotics and Figure AI.
According to CTO Andrew Bosworth, the company’s massive investments in AI and augmented reality technology over the past years will complement its robotics goals and give it a unique advantage in this space.
Meta joins other tech giants like Tesla, Apple, and Nvidia in exploring robotics. Tesla has already revealed humanoid robots, while Apple is reportedly researching both humanoid and non-humanoid designs for smart homes.
