OpenAI Partners with Stack Overflow to Boost Coding Abilities 🤝
OpenAI has announced a partnership with Stack Overflow, the popular platform for coding questions and answers. This deal follows OpenAI's recent collaboration with the Financial Times.
Details:
OpenAI will get access to Stack Overflow's technical knowledge and code backed by the millions of developers who used the platform for the last 15 years.
This data will be used to train OpenAI's models, with the aim of improving their coding capabilities.
Additionally, each ChatGPT response using Stack Overflow data will link back to the highest relevance posts that influenced the answer.
In return, Stack Overflow will use OpenAI's models to build new AI features for its websites and products.
OpenAI continues its aggressive data collection efforts. Just a week ago, it announced a partnership with the Financial Times, following similar deals with the Associated Press, Axel Springer, and the American Journalism Project.

AI Model Accurately Predicts Best Treatments Using Massive Patient Data
Researchers have developed a new AI model that accurately predicts treatment outcomes.
Details:
The model, called CURE, uses a "foundation model" strategy similar to ChatGPT, pre-training on a massive dataset of de-identified health data from millions of patients before fine-tuning the model with information concerning specific health conditions and treatments.
In tests, CURE outperformed 7 other models and matched recommendations from 4 randomized clinical trials.
The model considers individual patient characteristics to determine which therapy would work best.
With further validation, CURE could accelerate clinical trials and enable more personalized treatment plans that save more lives.

Apple is reportedly developing its own AI chip for use in its data centers. The effort is known internally as "Project ACDC" (Apple Chips in Data Center), and it aims to develop chips that will focus on executing AI models (inference) rather than training.
Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall rode in an AI-controlled F-16 fighter jet at Edwards Air Force Base. Kendall traveled there to see AI fly in real time and make a public statement of confidence in its future role in air combat.
Addressing fears surrounding AI-generated content in elections, OpenAI announced the launch of a tool to detect images created by its DALL-E 3 text-to-image generator. In internal tests, the tool accurately identified DALL-E 3 images 98% of the time.
YouTube is introducing an AI-powered "Jump Ahead" feature for Premium members. It utilizes machine learning and viewing data to identify commonly skipped sections in videos. This allows users to jump directly to the most engaging parts.
Visa just launched an AI-based enhancement to its fraud detection system called the VAAI Score. It uses AI to identify enumeration attacks and assigns a risk score to each transaction in real-time. This allows detection and prevention of card-not-present fraud.
