OpenAI Releases New Tools to Help Build AI Agents

OpenAI is introducing new offerings designed to help developers and enterprises build, deploy and scale AI agents.
Details:
The new Responses API combines features from its Chat Completions and Assistants APIs, offering developers a more flexible foundation for building agent applications with integrated web search, file handling, and computer control capabilities.
The open-source Agents SDK simplifies managing multi-agent workflows with configurable language models, agent handoffs, built-in security controls, and analysis tools.
OpenAI will continue to support its Chat Completions API, which is used by developers who don’t need built-in tools. However, it plans to deprecate its Assistants API after incorporating all its features into the new Responses API by mid-2026.
There's much more ahead. OpenAI stated in the post that it plans to add more tools and capabilities to simplify and accelerate the building of agentic applications on its platform in the coming weeks and months.
Google Releases New Gemma 3 Family of Open-Source AI Models

Google DeepMind has introduced Gemma 3, a new family of AI models that combine high performance with efficiency making them suitable for running on individual GPUs or TPUs.
Details:
The Gemma 3 family includes four models ranging from 1 to 27 billion parameters but, despite their smaller size, outperform larger AI models like Llama-405B and DeepSeek-V3 in initial tests.
The models support 140+ languages and can process text, images (except for the 1B model), and short videos with a 128,000-token context window.
Human evaluators in the chatbot arena gave the largest model in the series, Gemma 3-27B-IT, an Elo score of 1338, ranking it among the top ten AI models.
Alongside the multimodal Gemma models, Google introduced ShieldGemma 2, a specialized 4-billion-parameter security checker designed to identify dangerous content, explicit material, and depictions of violence in images.
Google’s Gemma 3 models set a new standard for efficient, high-performing AI and are available through Hugging Face, Kaggle, and Google AI Studio.

Wolf Games officially launched today with $4M in seed funding from television and music industry titans. The trailer for its first game, Public Eye, is now available here.
The investment will take place over the next five years. The U.S. tech giant aims to support local enterprises in building digital workforces that blend human talent with autonomous Agentforce agents for enhanced productivity and growth.
Sam Altman posted a lengthy sample from the model, given the prompt “Please write a metafictional literary short story about AI and grief,” saying, “This is the first time I have been really struck by something written by AI.”
New court filings reveal that Google owns a 14% stake in AI startup Anthropic and plans to invest an additional $750 million this year through a convertible debt deal. Google has invested a total of $3 billion in Anthropic so far despite having no voting rights, board seats, or direct control over the company.
