Nvidia's New Tool Lets You Run an AI Chatbot Locally

Nvidia has revealed an early preview of its "Chat with RTX" technology - an AI-powered chatbot that runs locally on Nvidia RTX-enabled GPUs. The goal is to demonstrate the potential for on-device AI assistants that can understand and summarize personal data without needing internet connectivity or paid subscriptions.
Chat with RTX allows users to feed YouTube videos and documents to the chatbot. It will then provide summarized details or answers to questions about the content. The technology leverages the latest RTX 30 and 40 series GPUs to enable advanced AI processing completely on the local device.
As this is an early demo, there are some known issues and limitations:
Occasional crashes.
Source attribution isn’t always accurate.
It can't use information from previous questions, so follow-up questions can’t be based on the context of a previous question.
While still in need of some polishing, Chat with RTX displays considerable promise for the future.

OpenAI is testing a new feature for ChatGPT that will allow it to remember information about you and your conversations over time. This upgrade aims to make conversations more personalized and intelligent.
Details:
Users will be able to control ChatGPT's memory, directing it to remember or forget certain details. This can be done directly in the chat or through the settings, where they can also disable this feature entirely.
Each custom GPT you use will have its own memory as well. For example, Book GPT could remember the books you’ve already read and your favorite genres.
Users also have the option to use "Temporary Chat" for conversations without memory. These temporary chats won't appear in history, won't utilize memory, and function as a sort of incognito mode.
This feature is currently open to a small portion of users but is expected to be widely available soon.

Apple Introduces “Keyframer”, a New AI Animation Tool
Source: Apple
Apple researchers have introduced “Keyframer”, an AI-powered tool that animates still images through natural language prompts. Keyframer demonstrates innovative applications of large language models (LLMs) and hints at future creative capabilities in Apple products.
Details:
Keyframer is powered by LLMs like GPT-4 to generate CSS animation code from static SVG images and text prompts
Users simply upload an image, type text like “Make the clouds drift left”, and Keyframer creates the code for that animation
Supports iterative design through additional prompting and editing generated code
The ability to bring still images to life through natural language prompts makes animations a lot more accessible, empowering anyone to visually tell their stories without needing considerable technical skills.
