OpenAI Cures GPT-4 ‘Laziness’ 🤖

OpenAI has announced a series of upgrades that promise major improvements in reliability, affordability, and oversight.

Details:

• The highlight is the improved GPT-4 model (gpt-4-0125-preview). The GPT-4 update fixes a problem known as "laziness" - situations where the model fails to complete tasks.

• Prices for GPT-3.5 Turbo have been lowered again, making it easier for customers to “scale”

• OpenAI's content moderation model has also been updated to be more robust for detecting harmful content.

• OpenAI introduces new API key management tools to give developers more control and insight into API usage

Overall, some great news, and the resolution of the 'laziness' problem, first acknowledged by the company in early December of last year, signals a promising start to the year.

Morpheus-1: The AI Model That Helps You Control Your Dreams

Prophetic AI, a US-based neurotechnology startup, has developed an AI model named Morpheus-1 that claims to be the first AI capable of inducing lucid dreams on demand.

Details:

• Morpheus-1 allows users to select desired dream states and themes as inputs. The AI then outputs tailored ultrasonic signals for targeted neurostimulation to achieve those precise states.

• This neurostimulation process gently activates parts of the brain associated with conscious dreaming using sound waves beyond the human hearing range.

• By pairing Morpheus-1 with a wearable headband device in development called Halo, Prophetic AI aims to detect REM sleep cycles and trigger lucid dream states that users can control as they unfold.

Prophetic AI was founded in March 2023 and has raised $1.1 million in funding to develop prototypes of Halo.

The startup is planning a beta release in Spring 2024, and people can sign up to be among the first to try the Halo prototype.

IBM provides individuals with the opportunity to learn and earn digital credentials in AI. The company is no stranger to AI technology, having developed its own generative AI solution, Watsonx. They have the expertise and credibility to offer credentials on AI fundamentals.

IBM's AI Fundamentals program is integrated into the SkillsBuild learning portal and consists of 6 courses.

To access this program, all you need to do is create a free account and go through a verification if needed. After that, you’ll get access to all the courses IBM offers.

You can go at your own pace and choose which courses to take, although to earn the certificate, you are required to complete the six courses, which takes around 10 hours.
