ChatGPT Now Allows Users to Customize Personality Traits Like ‘Chatty’ and ‘Gen Z’

OpenAI has announced it is rolling out a new user interface for ChatGPT’s custom instructions menu, including new ways to customize the chatbot’s traits.

Details:

  • Users can now assign traits like “Chatty,” “Encouraging,” or “Gen Z” to ChatGPT.

  • Additionally, the updated menu allows users to add details like preferred names, professions, and other personal preferences for more tailored interactions.

  • The revamped Custom Instructions still rely on prompt engineering but present it in a more user-friendly format.

  • The feature is rolling out first on ChatGPT.com and the Windows desktop app, with mobile and macOS updates expected in the coming weeks.

  • Users in the EU and select countries won’t see these changes yet due to certain restrictions.

This new feature is being officially announced one week after some users reported the arrival, and then disappearance, of the new options. It is being rolled out gradually, so you might not be able to see the new options yet.

Will AI Replace Software Engineers?

Mark Zuckerberg recently made a controversial prediction, stating that by 2025, AI at Meta and other tech companies could effectively replace mid-level engineers who currently write code.

This video discusses the potential impact of AI on the role of software engineers, offering a different perspective: instead of replacing software engineers, AI will likely lead to an evolution of their role.
