Source: OpenAI

OpenAI has just announced Sora, a text-to-video generator capable of creating photorealistic videos up to a minute long based on written text prompts.

Details:

  • The model is capable of rendering complex scenes with multiple characters, specific types of motion, objects, and backgrounds that appear realistic

  • Additionally, the model can generate a video from a single still image. It can also fill in missing frames in an existing video or extend its duration.

  • Sora is currently accessible only to 'red teamers' tasked with assessing potential risks, with a select group of visual artists, designers, and filmmakers granted access for feedback purposes.

The company plans to introduce pricing tiers based on the context window size, starting from the standard 128,000 tokens and extending up to 1 million tokens.

Quick Tips

Check any info with one click on Gemini

Hallucinations are a frequent problem with AI. But this Gemini feature allows you to check the info with a simple click.

  1. Write any prompt

  2. Once Gemini provides an answer click on the Google "G" icon at the bottom

Gemini will perform a Google search to verify the information and will highlight parts in green or orange.

Orange indicates that Google Search found content that is probably different from the statement or did not find relevant content.

Green indicates that Google Search found content that is likely similar to the statement.

  1. Click on green parts to check sources

After clicking on the green parts, Gemini will indicate the source that closely matches the statement. From there, you can click on the link to be redirected to the relevant website and quote.

*Note: This works on both Gemini and Gemini Advanced

Get started with Copilot in Excel

Copilot allows you to process data and create charts without formulas in Excel.

You’ll need to have an Excel table that includes data in a worksheet before using Copilot. Quickly turn a range of cells into an Excel table by following these steps:

  1. Select the cell or the range in the data.

  2. Select Home > Format as Table.

  3. In the Format as Table dialog box, select the checkbox next to My table as headers if you want the first row of the range to be the header row.

Once that’s done, just select any cell inside your table and then click on Copilot, and start writing any prompt

Here's a prompt you can use: "Create a [CHART TYPE] that shows [DESCRIPTION]"

Example: "Create a bar chart that shows the average weight for each sport"

Once the chart is created you can insert it into a new sheet

Final result:

*Note: Copilot will only work on files that are stored on OneDrive or SharePoint. To access it, you must be subscribed to 'Copilot for Microsoft 365' for business accounts or Copilot Pro for personal ones
