Pixel 9 Could Launch "Google AI" and 3 Big New Features

Insider information obtained by Android Authority shows that Google is planning to launch a series of features under the "Google AI" brand.

This set of features will be a mix of new and existing ones, including the already available Gemini and Circle to Search, along with three completely new features:

1. Add Me: Make sure everyone’s included in a group photo

The "Add Me" feature ensures everyone is included in group photos and appears to be an upgraded version of the Pixel 8's Best Take feature. Best Take allowed users to adjust expressions and merge different takes to create the perfect group photo.

2. Studio: You imagine it. Pixel creates it.

It appears that this app will integrate with the Pixel's screenshot editor, enabling sticker creation and remixing. However, its description suggests the app's capabilities extend beyond stickers, potentially functioning as an all-in-one generative AI image generator, similar to Apple's Image Playground.

3. Pixel Screenshots: Find the info you need from screenshots

This feature resembles Microsoft’s controversial Recall, but with a significant twist. Instead of automatically capturing everything you're doing, Pixel Screenshots only works on screenshots you manually take. When you capture a screenshot, the app adds extra metadata to it. This metadata is then processed by a local AI allowing you to search for specific screenshots by their content and even ask a bot questions about them. This approach ensures that sensitive information remains secure.

As the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro launch with a strong emphasis on AI, the introduction of the term “Google AI” suggests we can anticipate even more new features to come.

Meta Looks To Bring Generative AI Into Metaverse Gaming

Meta is advancing its metaverse strategy by integrating generative AI into its virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR) games.

Details:

• Meta plans to create new consumer experiences driven by generative AI, offering games that feature non-deterministic paths and dynamic changes with each playthrough.

• Efforts will initially target Horizon, Meta’s family of metaverse games, apps and creation resources, with potential expansion to other platforms such as smartphones and PCs.

• Meta has been boosting investments in metaverse game projects — reportedly as a result of CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s recent personal enthusiasm for developing games for the Quest headsets.

This comes as no surprise, as Generative AI is gaining traction in game development, with companies using it to create dynamic dialogues, narratives, and game assets, though it raises concerns among traditional game creators.

Colorize Black and White Photos using AI in Canva

1. Open Canva on your browser or your mobile app to access for free

2. On the Canva Dashboard, select “Create a design” on the top right corner. choose your dimensions and then finally tap on “create new design.” A new screen will appear with a clean canvas.

3. Go to “apps” at the bottom left corner. Scroll down to find “colorize”

4. Once you click on colorize you’ll be prompted with a new screen where you will be required to choose a file.

5. Tap on “choose file” and upload your image.

6. Then tap on Colorize image and wait for a few seconds. Your black and white image will be colorized.

7. You can play around with its saturation and hues etc. For that you have to tap on the image and then select “Edit image” at the top left side of the screen.

8. Once you are done with all the edits, download your image.
