MICROSOFT

OpenAI Microsoft Introduces New AI Agents šŸ¤–

Microsoft announced new AI agents at Microsoft Ignite 2024, designed to tackle business challenges and streamline operations within the Microsoft 365 suite.

Details:

  • Microsoft has launched several AI agents to assist with both simple and complex business processes. These agents are integrated into Microsoft 365 applications like SharePoint and Teams.

  • Employee Self-Service Agent: This agent in Microsoft 365 Copilot Business Chat (BizChat) helps employees quickly find answers to HR and IT-related queries, such as payroll and holiday allowances.

  • Teams Facilitator and Interpreter Agents: The Facilitator agent enhances collaboration by summarizing key points during meetings, while the Interpreter agent supports multilingual communication by translating up to nine languages simultaneously.

  • Project Manager Agent: This agent automates project management tasks in Microsoft Planner, from creating plans to tracking progress and sending reminders.

  • Microsoft also announced updates to Copilot Studio, the platform used for building new agents. Users will now be able to create smarter autonomous agents that can take actions, such as responding to emails or recording files, without needing prompts each time.

Microsoft's new AI agents promise to revolutionize how businesses handle everyday tasks, making operations smoother and more efficient, but it remains to be seen how effective they are in practice.

The Rising Demand for Whiskey: A Smart Investorā€™s Choice

Why are 250,000 Vinovest customers investing in whiskey?

In a word - consumption.

Global alcohol consumption is on the rise, with projections hitting new peaks by 2028. Whiskey, in particular, is experiencing significant growth, with the number of US craft distilleries quadrupling in the past decade. Younger generations are moving from beer to cocktails, boosting whiskey's popularity.

Thatā€™s not all.

Whiskey's tangible nature, market resilience, and Vinovestā€™s strategic approach make whiskey a smart addition to any diversified portfolio.

HARPERCOLLINS

HarperCollins Partners with AI Company to Use Books for Model Training

HarperCollins has announced a new initiative allowing select nonfiction titles to be used for training AI models. The decision was made with the authors' consent.

Details:

  • HarperCollins has reached a deal with an unnamed AI technology company to use some nonfiction backlist titles for AI training, contingent on authors opting in.

  • Authors have the choice to participate in this agreement, with a non-negotiable offer of $2,500 for their consent.

  • The agreement includes specific protections, such as credit and limits on verbatim usage per AI response, ensuring authors' works are respected.

  • This move follows HarperCollins' previous partnership with AI audio company ElevenLabs to produce audiobooks.

HarperCollins has reportedly been required to keep the "company's identity [sic] confidential," but a report from Bloomberg suggests the AI company is Microsoft.

How to Use Google Gemini's New Memory Feature

Google has added a "Memory" feature to Gemini. The chatbot can now remember details about your life, work, and personal preferences, which will enable it to provide "even more helpful and relevant responses, tailored precisely to your needs."

*Note: The feature is rolling out gradually and is currently available only to users of the Google One AI Premium Plan. Itā€™s not yet accessible in the Android or iOS apps.

Hereā€™s how to use the new feature:

  1. Go to Google Gemini and select "Settings" in the sidebar.

  2. Click on the "Saved info" option.

  3. Add memories manually for Gemini to remember, for example: "Use simple language, avoid jargon," "I'm vegetarian, don't suggest recipes with meat," "After responding, include a Spanish translation."

  4. In addition to manual input, you can also ask Gemini to remember details during conversations by saying, "Remember [x]" or "Don't forget that Iā€™m [x]."

  5. Everything you ask Gemini to remember appears in the list on the "Saved info" page, with the option to edit or delete each entry.
