Microsoft Delays Controversial Recall AI Feature for Copilot+ PCs π
Microsoft was set to roll out its ambitious new Recall AI feature alongside the launch of Copilot Plus PCs next week. However, the company has now delayed Recall's release in order to further test and improve its security.
Details:
Recall uses AI to continuously capture screenshots of everything you see or do on your computer for later search and retrieval. Everything in Recall is designed to remain local and private on-device, supposedly ensuring that no data is used to train AI models.
Microsoft is delaying Recall to test it with the Windows Insider program, after originally promising to ship Recall as an opt-in feature with additional security improvements.
The decision comes after backlash from privacy advocates and security experts who warned that Recall, as it currently stands, could be a 'disaster' for cybersecurity.
Microsoft has assured that it is putting security above everything after the Recall feature generated significant controversy when announced last month. To ensure that promise, it seems the company needs more time, but it insists the feature is still coming soon.

Tesla Shareholders Sue Musk for Diverting Resources to xAI
Elon Musk is facing a lawsuit from several Tesla shareholders who claim he breached his fiduciary duty by launching a rival AI company xAI.
Details:
They allege Musk knowingly diverted talent, resources, and data from Tesla to unfairly benefit his new AI company.
Musk reportedly diverted engineers and AI experts away from Tesla to xAI, while also shifting computing resources and access to Tesla's valuable AI training data to the new startup. They cite a CNBC report that Musk ordered thousands of Nvidia AI chips meant for Tesla to instead go to xAI.
The lawsuit also accuses Tesla's board of failing to stop Musk from "plundering" the company's resources and AI capabilities to create billions in value for xAI, which just raised $6 billion in funding.
Musk has, for years, aimed to position Tesla as a robotics and AI powerhouse, only to later release xAI, a move that seems to have earned him some detractors, yet Tesla shareholders still voted in favor of reinstating Muskβs $56 billion pay plan on Thursday.

How to Use Midjourney's New 'Personalization' Feature
Source: Midjourney
Midjourney just released a new feature that allows you to generate images using a 'personalized' code. The algorithm learns your style by looking at the images you have ranked or liked on the explore page of their Alpha website.
Note: You need at least 200 pair/rankings for it to work
Hereβs how to use it:
Go to Midjourney and add --p to your prompt to get started
You'll receive a unique personalization code.
Control the strength: Use (--s values between 0-1000) - 100 default, 0 is off, 1000 is max.
You can also turn on the feature by heading to the settings area on the Alpha website.
Example prompt: βA dog running in a field --p --s 750β
