Factors holding back AI adoption in the Enterprise

• In this global survey, O’Reilly Media targeted individuals within various companies, including both those currently utilizing AI and those that have not adopted it. The former were asked, 'Why isn’t your company using AI?' while the latter were queried on the main bottleneck holding back further AI adoption.

• The survey found that the two main reasons holding back AI adoption were difficulty finding appropriate business use cases and concerns about legal issues, risk, and compliance.

Inflection AI Unveils New AI Model, Claims It is the Second Best in the World 🔥

Inflection AI has released Inflection-2, a new AI model that the company claims is the best model in the world for its compute class and the second most capable LLM in the world today, only second only to OpenAI's GPT-4.

Details:

• Inflection-2 was trained on 5,000 Nvidia H100 GPUs in fp8 mixed precision for ~10²⁵ FLOPs. This puts it on par training-wise with Google's PaLM 2 Large model.

• However, Inflection-2 actually outscored PaLM 2 on several AI benchmarks:

  • MMLU benchmark covering various language tasks

  • TriviaQA, HellaSwag, and GSM8k benchmarks

• Compared to GPT-4, Inflection-2 scored 89.0 on the HellaSwag 10-shot test, nearing GPT-4's 95.3 score.

• Inflection-2 also beat Claude 2 at chain-of-thought reasoning after optimized prompting.

• For coding and math, Inflection-2 falls short of GPT-4 but exceeds Meta's Llama 2. Coding isn't a focus for Inflection though, so there's room to grow.

Inflection-2 seems to establish the startup as a top contender, even outpacing giants like Google and Meta in key language areas. We'll be keeping an eye on how Claude and GPT match up as they continue evolving too.
