Google's New Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking Debuts at #1 on the lmarena Leaderboard 🏆

Google has released a new version of its Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking AI model. The experimental model shows improvements across nearly all categories and quickly took the top spot in the chatbot arena.
Details:
The updated model has demonstrated significant gains in several benchmarks, achieving 73.3% on the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME) and 74.2% on the GPQA Diamond science benchmark.
The model can process up to one million tokens of text, which is five times more than OpenAI’s o1 Pro model, while maintaining faster response times.
Gemini 2.0 now shows its reasoning process, making its conclusions easier to trust and verify.
The model also includes native code execution capabilities, allowing developers to run and test code directly within the system.
The new model is accessible for free via Google AI Studio, with some usage limits. Developers can enable code execution through the platform's sidebar settings.

ANTHROPIC
Anthropic Secures Additional $1B Investment from Google

Anthropic has reportedly secured an additional $1 billion investment from Google, bringing the tech giant’s total stake in the AI company to around $3 billion.
Details:
This funding will help Anthropic roll out major product updates, including plans to release new AI models, introduce “two-way” voice chat and web access for Claude, and launch a new AI tool called the “Virtual Collaborator.”
The Virtual Collaborator will run on PCs, handling tasks like managing workflows, writing and testing code, and integrating with apps like Slack and Google Docs.
Anthropic is reportedly raising an additional $2 billion from investors, including Lightspeed, at a $60 billion valuation.
The competition in the AI industry remains fierce, with Google doubling down on its bet on Anthropic, a startup solidifying its position as a major player with a strong focus on AI safety above all.

7 ChatGPT hacks to maximize your productivity

Here are some strategies to help you get the most out of your ChatGPT experience:
Use Temporary Chats for sensitive information

For one-off queries that you would rather keep private, use temporary chats to prevent conversations from being stored. They won’t be used for training, and ChatGPT won’t remember anything you discussed.
You can start a temporary chat by tapping the ChatGPT heading at the top and selecting the Temporary Chat option.
Retrieve past conversations easily
Simply type a keyword or phrase you remember from your conversation, and ChatGPT will show a list of conversations that match your search terms. Click on any result to open that conversation and read or continue where you left off.
You can locate the search magnifying glass in the left sidebar. You can also use Ctrl+K on PC or Cmd+K on Mac.
Use keyboard shortcuts
Streamline your workflow with these shortcuts:
Cmd+Shift+C: Copy last response
Cmd+Shift+O: Open new chat
Cmd+Shift+S: Toggle sidebar
Cmd+Shift+I: Access custom instructions
/: Displays a list of actions within a chat.
Leverage the enhanced search feature

Use ChatGPT’s updated search feature for accurate, real-time results, including images and clickable sources.
Manage memory for personalization

Enable memory to let ChatGPT recall your preferences, or clear it when needed via Settings > Personalization > Manage Memory. You can add details to memory during chats by saying, “Remember this.”
Use custom instructions

This feature allows you to add preferences or requirements for ChatGPT to consider when generating responses. Set your preferences, and ChatGPT will remember them for future conversations.
Archive chats for organization
Archive conversations to declutter your history while keeping them searchable. A useful option to move chats out of the way while still keeping them available when needed.
Select any of the old conversations in the sidebar (to the left) and tap the three-dotted icon. This will show the Archive option.

Elon Musk criticized the funding of Stargate, a $500B AI infrastructure project backed by OpenAI, Oracle, and SoftBank, claiming, "They don’t actually have the money," to support such a massive initiative. Sam Altman fired back, defending the project as "great for the country" and inviting Musk to visit the first site in Texas, which is already under construction.
At Davos, OpenAI revealed it’s already training “o4,” the successor to the unreleased o3 model. Chief Product Officer Kevin Weil predicts "another big jump in capabilities" and hinted at faster development cycles, adding that it took OpenAI just three months to go from o1 to o3.
