XAI
xAI is Testing a Standalone iOS App for Its Grok Chatbot 📱
Previously tied to X accounts, Grok is preparing to launch as a standalone iPhone app and will soon have its own dedicated website, grok.com.
Details:
The standalone Grok app is being tested in Australia and a few other countries, with a global rollout expected soon.
xAI is also preparing grok.com to make the chatbot accessible on the web, with the site currently showing a “coming soon” message.
Users will no longer need an X account to access Grok. The app and website will allow sign-ups with Google accounts as well.
Grok has standout features, such as access to real-time data from the web and X, and the ability to generate images with fewer restrictions than most other models.
This move aims to make Grok more accessible and competitive with AI leaders such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini.

OPENAI
OpenAI Rolls Out Enhanced Memory
OpenAI has started rolling out a beta feature that allows the AI to reference previous conversations, even across new chats.
Details:
ChatGPT will not only recall information stored in Memory but may also recall past conversations you’ve had with it in new chats.
Users have full control over what ChatGPT remembers. The settings panel allows you to delete specific memories, clear all saved data, or archive chats you want to keep private.
OpenAI hasn’t clarified how this new feature differs from the original memory system launched earlier in 2024, or how the two systems will work together.
With enhanced memory, the company aims to make ChatGPT a more personalized assistant, improving over time for each user.

How to use ChatGPT with Siri on iPhone in iOS 18.2
You don't need a ChatGPT account to start using it on your iPhone, but you do need to enable it:
Open the Settings app > Apple Intelligence & Siri, then find the ChatGPT menu under the "Extensions" heading.
In the ChatGPT menu, select "Set Up" and click "Enable ChatGPT" or "Use ChatGPT with an Account."
Signing in keeps a record of all your ChatGPT requests in your account. When using the ChatGPT app (mobile or desktop), you'll see the history of requests from Siri and other iOS apps.
With a ChatGPT Plus subscription, you can make unlimited advanced requests; otherwise, there's a daily limit.
You'll also see a "Confirm ChatGPT Requests" toggle, enabled by default. When Siri or another AI tool wants to use ChatGPT, you'll be prompted first. You can turn it off for uninterrupted chatting, but you'll still be asked before sending any image to ChatGPT.
Once ChatGPT has been set up, ask it a question by prefacing any instruction with “Siri, ask ChatGPT.”
Even if you simply say "Siri" followed by your question, Apple Intelligence will automatically determine if ChatGPT is a better fit and ask for your confirmation before switching.
