OPENAI

OpenAI Partners with Publisher Axel Springer in Novel AI Content Deal

OpenAI has made a groundbreaking deal with German publisher Axel Springer to utilize its news content across platforms such as Politico, Business Insider, Bild, and other brands. This 'first-of-its-kind' agreement enables OpenAI to leverage higher-quality, real-time information, allowing users to receive properly attributed article summaries from original news sources.

This effort also seems to be aimed at countering Grok's unique feature, its access to real-time information through X's tweets, which made it stand out from other models.

The deal comes at a time when publishers are exploring AI's potential to disrupt the industry. It not only addresses concerns about occasional misinformation provided by ChatGPT to its growing user base but also establishes a foundation for further collaboration between AI developers and the news media.

Google Launches AI Studio and Imagen 2

After unveiling its Gemini models last week and incorporating them into the Bard chatbot experience, Google is expanding access to developers by introducing its new AI Studio, it also announced the second generation of Imagen, its AI model that can create and edit images from text.

Details:

  • AI Studio allows developers to leverage the new Gemini Pro to quickly develop prompts and Gemini-based chatbots and then get API keys to use them in their apps or get access to the code

  • Google AI Studio offers a free tier with a generous quota of up to 60 requests per second. However, users on the free tier allow Google's reviewers access to API input and output for “product quality improvement”

  • Imagen 2 is an upgraded version that, Compared to the first-gen Imagen, it’s “significantly” improved in terms of image quality, Google claims. It also introduces new capabilities, including the ability to render text and logos.

Google continues to integrate its new Gemini Pro with new and updated services, while we eagerly await the release of the Gemini Ultra next year.
