ANTHROPIC
Authors Sue Anthropic for Copyright Infringement Over AI Training 🤯
A group of well-known authors is taking legal action against Anthropic, accusing the company of using pirated books to train its AI models. The lawsuit, filed in California, claims that Anthropic has 'built a multibillion-dollar business by stealing hundreds of thousands of copyrighted books.'
Details:
Filed by authors like Andrea Bartz and Charles Graeber, the suit accuses Anthropic of using a dataset called "The Pile," which includes "Books3," a collection of pirated ebooks.
Anthropic admitted to using The Pile for training its AI but hasn't responded to requests for comment regarding the lawsuit.
This case is part of a broader trend where authors are increasingly challenging tech companies like Meta and OpenAI over similar issues.
The clash between authors and AI firms is heating up, with this lawsuit marking another chapter in the ongoing debate over copyright and AI.
